At the end of fifth grade, every student is assessed using multiple data points to determine their math placement for sixth grade. Students placed in advanced pathways have the opportunity to take Algebra I for high school credit while in middle school. A smaller number of students will also have the opportunity to take Geometry for high school credit.

In addition, new for the 2016-17 school, Spanish will also be available in middle school for high school credit. For each of two years, students will earn a .5 credit of Spanish I.
