Citizens Advisory Committee

Our Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is designed to keep the administration and school board members informed about community opinion, represent the interest of students, parents, and the community in studying specific school problems, to promote maximum interaction between the school board and the community and to raise community awareness of School Board decisions and policies.

The CAC comprises 25-30 Camas School District community members, with representatives ranging from parents and students to interested parties and senior citizens. Every effort is made to include different viewpoints and geographic areas in the makeup of this group. Terms are three years long, and meetings occur on the first Monday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., October-June, at Zellerbach Administration Center.

The CAC provides a forum where each member may have a part in shaping the future of the educational process and environment as it is developed.

Student Advisory Committee

Beginning in fall 2021, our Student Advisory Committee (SAC), comprised of  25-30 middle and high school students, will meet with the Superintendent via Zoom. Like the CAC, the SAC will learn about district operations and policies and amplify student voices around important issues.

In the winter of 2021, students were encouraged to apply for a position on the committee. Each year, secondary students will be allowed to apply.
