Dr. John Anzalone is the Superintendent of Camas School District. In that position, he serves as the secretary to the Camas School Board and is responsible for carrying out the Board’s mission and vision. Additionally, John oversees a $100 million budget and nearly 7,200 preschool to twelfth-grade students attending 14 schools.
John holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master’s degree in Administration. Dr. Anzalone has experience as a classroom teacher, dean of students, expulsion due process officer, behavior school principal, ELL school principal, over 12 years as a high school principal, and most recently served as an Assistant Superintendent in the (other) Clark County School District in Nevada, which is the fifth largest school district in the US. He has served on numerous committees and most recently moderated a roundtable with staff and state political leaders regarding race relations and their impact on the reopening of schools.
John, his wife Sarah, and his children joined our community in June. He’s quickly acclimated to the culture, climate, and, as a former history teacher, the history and traditions of Camas. Dr. Anzalone is extremely proud to serve in this community within a setting so dedicated to the education of tomorrow’s leaders.
