Our Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is designed to keep the administration and school board members informed about community opinion, represent the interests of students, parents, and the community in studying specific school problems, promote maximum interaction between the school board and the community, and raise community awareness of School Board decisions and policies.

The CAC comprises 25-30 Camas School District community members, including parents, students, interested parties, and senior citizens. Every effort is made to include diverse viewpoints and geographic areas in this group. Terms are three years long, and meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., October-May, at the Zellerbach Administration Center.

The CAC provides a forum where each member can help shape the future of the educational process and environment as they are developed.

Student Advisory Committee

Beginning in the fall of 2021, our Student Advisory Committee (SAC), comprised of 25-30 middle and high school students, began meeting with the Superintendent via Zoom. Like the CAC, the SAC will learn about district operations and policies and amplify student voices around important issues.

Students were encouraged to apply for a position on the committee in the winter of 2021. Secondary students will be allowed to apply each year.
