donations on carts

This spring, students and staff at Lacamas Lake Elementary once again showed what it means to lead with heart. As part of their annual Month of Service, they focused their efforts on supporting our Camas Family-Community Resource Center (FCRC)—a hub for students and families experiencing hardship.

With guidance from Brenda Schallberger, our FCRC coordinator, the Lacamas team organized a donation drive centered around essential hygiene kits. Throughout April, students collected everything from soap and deodorant to laundry pods and chapstick. These “Keepin’ It Clean” kits are now ready to help meet real needs in our community.

Even better? Brenda was invited to speak at a school assembly in April to help students understand how their generosity makes a difference. It’s one thing to donate supplies—it’s another to hear directly how those small items can ease someone’s day.

To Jen Clary, Tammy Stevens, Brenda Schallberger, and everyone who made this project a success: thank you for helping our youngest learners take action with purpose and compassion. This is the kind of learning that lasts.
