Readers Theatre at Grass Valley Elementary

Grass Valley students grades: 4 & 5

Join us for a thrilling three-session series of Readers Theater for 4th and 5th grade students who attend Grass Valley Elementary School! Readers Theater is an entertaining and approachable way of doing theater where students read out loud from scripts. There is no need to memorize, no costumes, and no staging. The emphasis is vocal expression and storytelling. Readers Theatre is often used as an educational tool, promoting literacy, and enhancing reading skills, as it encourages participants to explore and understand the nuances of a written text. Also, it is totally fun and builds confidence!

Over the course of these three sessions, twelve students will bring stories to life through expressive readings. In sessions we will be warming up with interactive theater games, and then rehearsing small and large group scripts. The session will end with parents being able to come watch students read the scripts they have been working on.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students

Wednesdays, January 15, 22 and 29 (Code: 2015-25)
