Students holding pens and gifts

Discovery High School engineering and design students recently partnered with several CSD elementary classrooms for a creative, hands-on collaboration. Elementary students began by sketching their own designs, which the high school students then transformed into laser-cut creations in the DHS lab.

Once production was complete, the DHS students returned to the elementary schools to deliver the finished pieces—along with sets of markers so the younger students could color and personalize their designs.

This cross-grade partnership highlights the Self-Empowered Learner attribute from our Profile of a Graduate, as students of all ages took initiative, applied design thinking, and shared their skills to bring ideas to life.
