Micah in Hammock

Posted: March 23, 2020

Staff,

I hope this email finds you doing alright. We certainly have had some beautiful sunshine this week. It felt good to get out and do some yard work today. There’s something really satisfying in a world where it feels a little out of control to mow the lawn and see the nice lines of the fresh-cut grass. My son Micah approved from his hammock!

Tomorrow and Tuesday we will be doing our remote training, getting ready for this world of closed schools.  More information will come out later today about the details for the days. We’re also supposed to receive another update from OSPI tomorrow which we will share with you.

If you need a little pick-me-up, check out StoriesfromCamas. We’ve had a lot of people share ideas, pictures, and stories.  If you have any ideas to contribute, please send them my way.

I want to send out a BIG thank you to our custodial, food services, grounds, maintenance, technology, and transportation staff, AND anyone else who was able to help us last week. We were able to do a lot of cleaning, get out over 2,000 meals, and prepare for a remote access world thanks to everyone pitching in.  Also thank you to staff who reached out to our students. I heard from so many parents how grateful they were and how much it meant to their students to get those messages. There was a whole lot of HOPE & JOY amidst some great challenges, and there’s a whole lot more HOPE & JOY to come.
