I hope you had a nice weekend. Last week was a big week with the return of 1st and 2nd grade students in small groups. A big thank you to all involved in facilitating this opportunity! Making all of this work has been nothing short of extraordinary and is a testament to each of you!!!
As we continue on this journey through the pandemic a very important next step is vaccination. I serve on a regional task force and on Friday met the incident commander for our region. The incident management team arrived in Clark County last Tuesday, bringing federal, state and local representatives experienced in managing complex incidents to Southwest Washington. The counties and the team are pursuing plans for multiple mobile and fixed-location community vaccination sites. At this time vaccinations are being given to people in tiers 1A and 1B. With the recent changes in our state vaccination plan, educators will be vaccinated in tier 2. ESD 112 Superintendent, Tim Merlino, meets with the incident management team daily to support logistics and coordination with districts. As a region we have expressed our priority to get staff vaccinated and to assist in any way we can with resources/sites for our community. The biggest barrier right now is supply. What also complicates this for us is in Southwest Washington is coordination with Oregon for staff that live there. We’ll continue to keep you updated as this unfolds.
As we head into the week I wanted to share another Getting to Know You video, Brady Militech from Camas High. It’s been so much fun for me to spend some time with staff and share with you. I hope you have a great week!
