Save the date! Here at Camas High School, we are starting to look for volunteers to serve as judges for our annual Senior Board Presentations on May 30, May 31, and June 1 from 1:20-3:20 PM. This is a great opportunity to see the culmination of our seniors’ efforts and the significant work they invested in their projects over the course of this school year.

The intent of our Senior Project is for students to explore an authentic learning opportunity of their interest that reinforces their K-12 academic experience while leading to their individual growth as an active citizen preparing to enter our wider community. This experience is a tradition for Camas Seniors and one that allows them to demonstrate many facets of their learning, growth, interests, and unique style. This culminating event is often inspiring to witness.

The role of board members in this process is critical as you are helping to evaluate a student’s work and provide feedback that helps them grow. As community members, you bring an important lens to this process and can offer our students valuable insight. Board members are provided with an evaluation sheet for each student and encouraged to note comments and ask specific questions related to the presentation. Each presentation is between 8-10 minutes, and each session of presentations runs for approximately two hours.  We will hold three sessions; you are invited to participate in one, two, or all sessions. We will provide training for new board members that want more information before they serve.

At this point, if you are interested, all you need to do is save the date. An invite with more specifics and the link to sign up will go out at the end of the month. At that time, you can commit to serving if this opportunity fits your interest and schedule.
