The Camas High School FIRST Robotics team, Team Mean Machine, won the 65-team 2012 Seattle Cascade Regional competition. For the second straight year Team Mean Machine was also awarded the Engineering Excellence Award. Most exciting of all: By virtue of their first-place finish, these students have qualified to compete in the World Championships in St. Louis next month: Katherine Boyd; Jared Freeman; Griffen Gorsuch; Natalie Jansen; Kurt Johnson; Catherine Le; Jordan Mazi; Henry Midles; Collin Murray; Zachary Spratt; Nicholas Thornley; James Wasson; Alex Wolfe; and Victor Zhang.
