Officer Tim Fellows with an elementary student.

Posted: November 7, 2016

Officer Tim Fellows does a lot more than just patrol the streets of Camas—he engages with our kids.  Each of our schools has many stories of Officer Fellows making a difference for students, families, and staff.  I want to share one specific example from Dorothy Fox Elementary by way of Dr. Sork.

It is heart-warming to see the students be so excited to win a PBIS reward drawing to take a monthly tour of the Camas Pride Police Car.  Officer Fellows shows the kids the vehicle and equipment and talks to them about the Fox Four (I am Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and Learner) that guides our school and our Camas Community.  Kids get a photo memory of their special time and leave with a lasting positive impression of support and caring from our Camas Police Force.  It is a feel-good moment every month filled with HOPE & JOY and it is wonderful for the kids to hold our Camas PD Officers in such high regard.

We appreciate the partnership we have with the Camas Police department and Officer Fellows.  It’s a great example of the community focus that makes Camas such a great place!  We are fortunate to have so many wonderful partnerships that wrap together to support our students.

Here’s to finding HOPE & JOY this week and a special thanks to all of our veterans – Happy Veterans Day!
