Snow Routes

Winter months bring with them the challenge of inclement weather and poor road conditions.  Hopefully, the following will answer any questions you may have regarding radio announcements and transportation for students.

In the event of poor weather conditions, the district’s emergency notification system will call parents at their home number around 6:00 a.m. to announce late start or closure information. If snow routes are in effect, the message will indicate so. Additionally, the district will also continue to post the notification on the district web site (www.camas.wednet.edu) and notify media in the same manner it always has. Parents are asked to refrain from calling the district office or schools as high call volumes tend to shut down the phone system.  You can check the district website for updates regarding afternoon snow routes and early school closures throughout the day.

If no announcement is made, bus routes and pick-up times will run as usual, but please allow for delays.  If a two-hour late start is announced, buses will run regular routes two hours later than the normal schedule, and there will be no AM kindergarten or preschool.

Snow routes apply to the following students only.  A routes are CHS & Middle Schools, B routes are Elementary.

In Town Routes

If you usually board bus 59-A, 59-B, 23-A, 23-B or Kindergarten Bus F at 532 W Lookout Ridge, Stonegate Drive & N 3^rd Street, N 4^th Street, W Dogwood Street & 1^st Street, 323 W Y Street, W Y Street & 6^th Street, W Y Street and Z Street, W Y Street & X Street you will need to load and unload at Lookout Ridge and 10^th Street.

If you board bus 6-A, 42-A, 42-B, or Kindergarten Bus N at NW 35^th Avenue and Maple Street, or on NW 44^th Ave or NW Jasmine Street you will need to load and unload at NW Norwood Street & 34^th Avenue.

If you board bus 25-A, 10-A,or Kindergarten Bus L at NW 29^th Avenue & Dahlia Street, NW 29^th Avenue & Conrad Ct, NW 29^th Avenue & Gravenstein Street and NW Gravenstein Street & 30^th Circle you will need to load and unload at NW 29^th Avenue & Benita Street.

If you board bus 5-A, 60-A or Kindergarten Bus J at SE Fernridge Drive & Grandridge Drive or SE Fernridge Drive and Fernridge Court you will need to load and unload at SE Deerfern Loop & Deerfern Street.

If you board bus 3- B or Kindergarten Bus K at NW Ilwaco Street & 3^rd Avenue, or 444 NW Ilwaco Street you will need to load and unload at NW McIntosh Road & Ilwaco Street.

If you board bus 71-A, 56-A, 47-B or Kindergarten Bus L at NW 23^rd Avenue & hood Drive or NW Hood Drive & Hood Street you will need to load and unload at NW 23^rd Avenue and Douglas or NW Hood Street & 20^th Circle.

If you board bus 62-A, 9-A or 68-B at NW Norwood Street & 8th Avenue you will need to load and unload at NW 8^th Avenue & Norwood Court.  If you catch Bus 68-B at NW Norwood Street & Norwood Drive you will need to load 7 minutes earlier.  The bus will not be returning to that stop.

Livingston Mountain Routes

Bus 70-A & 69-B at NE Livingston Road and NE Hancock Road will load and unload at the Fire District 9 Station located on NE 292^nd Avenue.

Bus 7-A & 6-B at NE Winters Road and in the Jones Creek area will load and unload at the intersection of NE Lessard Road and Winters Road.

Bus 63-A & 62-B at NE 262^nd Avenue will load and unload at the intersection of NE 53^rd Street & 262^nd Avenue.
