As this class is made up of both 7th and 8th grade students we will be covering units of study from both grade levels, which includes Earth and Life Sciences. Student’s keep a “Science Journal” in class, which they are able to use when they take tests. These notebooks are designed to stay in class, to avoid being lost or misplaced.
Students will be able to attend their grade level field trips with their general education peers, such as the 8th grade trip to Mt. St. Helens.
Another important aspect of Science is learning the Scientific Method. We will be learning the 6 main steps in the process and look to demonstrate an understanding of them. The steps include:
Identify the Problem State a Hypothesis Identify needed Materials List the procedures Show the Data Collected State a Conclusion
*Only 8th grade students will take the Science WASL. |
