Curriculum
Fundation is a curriculum used in Mrs. Morta’s classroom. We work on implementing the goals and objectives in alignment with Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs). Here is a small excerpt from their website.
“Fundation provides children of varying learning abilities with a foundation for reading and spelling. It provides teachers with the skills and tools needed to present a structured, sequential, and cumulative phonics/spelling program using multisensory teaching techniques.”
“As a recognized leader in multisensory language programs, Wilson brings more than a decade of systematic and explicit instruction to the K-3 classroom. Classroom Information
The students spend their first week in the classroom becoming aware of their classroom activities. They will begin to receive services a week after they have become familiar with their general education classroom. A schedule will be provided to each classroom teacher to ensure that your child receives the required services stated in their Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
Progress Report
Students will receive progress reports as specified in IEPs in a rubric. A rubric is an assessment tool that Mrs. Morta uses in her classroom. “A rubric is a device for organizing and interpreting data gathered from observations of student performance.” (Rose, Mary. Fla.) A rubric will inform parents of the progress of students in class.
