Math Specialist

Welcome to the web page for Mrs. Echeverio, Helen Baller Math Specialist.

This is my fourth year working in the Camas District and my twelfth year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and received my Master’s in Education from California University of PA. My favorite part of my job is working with all grades levels and teaching math all day long.

My weekly schedule is as follows:

I visit third grade classes each day during first period. Next I see a group of fourth graders in my classroom (the same students each day). I finish out each morning by teaching second graders (going to their room).

After lunch I teach first grade, rotating from room to room each day and then I teach fifth grade math to the same group of students daily.

My primary focus in the 1^st-3^rd grades is to teach problem solving strategies and math vocabulary. I am responsible for the entire math curriculum for my fourth and fifth grade groups.

I also get to visit the 1^st-3^rd grade classes on a rotating basis to play educational math games. Your child (1^st-3^rd grade only) has “Math Game Day” approximately once every three weeks for an hour in his/her classroom.
