Camas High School junior Tsering Shola is still making waves in hearing research. Please vote for her to receive the 2017 Oticon People First “Focus on People” award through August 31!
After winning honors – and an $80,000 scholarship – at science fairs last spring – she advanced to the prestigious Intel Science and Engineering Fair in May. It’s no surprise to us that others took notice. Oticon’s national program recognizes students, adults, and advocacy volunteers who are changing the perception of hearing loss and outdated stereotypes of those who are deaf.
Tsering’s background: After being diagnosed with sensoral neural hearing loss as a young child, Shola became intrigued by hearing loss research and earned a volunteer position at Hearing Research Center. Her first hearing aid was produced by Oticon.
