Parents are saying, “I wish they had this kind of a program when I was in school!”
The Camas High School Integrated Arts & Academics Program is hosting an Information Meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 7:00-8:30 PM, in the CHS North Commons. Prospective student applicants and their families will hear an overview of the program, meet the teachers, and hear the current IAA students share their experiences. There’ll be time for questions and answers, too.
IAA applications are now available online!
In order to be accepted into the program, students do not need to audition, present a portfolio, or even have highly developed talent. If they have a strong interest in the following, they are encouraged to apply:
- Creating: Expressing ideas in creative projects involving multiple art forms such as visual or literary art, acting, music, dance, film and/or design;
- Critical thinking: Applying learning within meaningful and engaging projects;
- Community: Being a part of a smaller, yet diverse community of learners within the large, high school environment. Students grow personally and artistically because of this niche program.
A program video and application can be found on the IAA website and is open to students who will be entering ninth or tenth grade in the 2017-18 school year. (Current Sophomores may also apply for second semester of this year.) The deadline for submitting the application is Friday, January 27, at 4:00 PM. Applications received after that date will be accepted depending on space availability.
