Admissions

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are eighth grade students who have completed or will complete Algebra I or higher with at least a B letter grade by the end of the 2006-07 school year. The selection process includes a review of overall GPA, an entrance exam, a completed application, and an interview as well as teacher recommendations.

Of the 30 positions available within each cohort, initial slots will be reserved for eligible Camas students; however, entrance of students from outside the district is possible if space is available.

Admissions Criteria

• Application Questionnaire(Round Two Consideration, due 3:00 p.m., July 30, 2008)
• Teacher Recommendations (Mathematics, Science, and English faculty required - one more is optional)
• GPA (Average GPA for Mathematics, Science, and English for previous two academic years)
• Academy Entrance Exam and On-demand Writing Prompt8:00 a.m. - noon on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Camas High School
• Interviews will take place July 31, 2008, from noon - 1:00 p.m.
