It has been a tremendous honor to open Liberty Middle School and see it fill with cheerful students and staff. The building itself is magnificent, and the staff couldn't be finer or more diligent. We worked hard to provide a positive learning environment, and it shows both on the kids' faces and in their behavior.

As a staff, we started to develop a Belief Statement that would illustrate to everyone - community, students, parents, and staff - what we believe to be true about our school. After the staff worked on the statements, we included students in crafting our final Belief statement, which is:

A thriving community committed to grow. Possibilities!

We believe it expresses the diversity of attitudes and strengths that we possess as a learning community.

During this process , I asked each staff member to reflect and create their own personal Belief Statement, and I'd like to share mine with you:

I Believe.

• that to build a community of learners, we must first build a community.
• that our kids are worth whatever it takes.
• in life-long learning, for all stakeholders: students, staff, and parents.
• that a sense of humor is essential in this business!
