Welcome to Lacamas Heights

We enjoy a proud tradition of academic excellence and are committed to continuing this tradition. We believe in challenging students to achieve all they can. Academic excellence can only be obtained when families and the school work together for the benefit of children.

At Lacamas we are committed to the goal that in every classroom, every student, every day learns and grows and feels successful.

Technology

Implementation of the building technology plan for Lacamas began in the fall of 1997. The building was networked and has integrated voice, data, and video technology. The network provides E-mail capabilities and satellite and extension capabilities - all supported with a new technology curriculum that involves extensive staff training. A computer lab features 28 built-in student stations, and a media-presentation station. Each classroom is equipped with a teacher computer station and two student computer stations. The library has access to on-line reference information. The Accelerated Reading Program, which links reading and computers, is networked throughout the classrooms and the library; a new high-tech keyboarding system has been purchased for the music department. The dedicated staff at Lacamas is highly trained in teaching with technology and integrating the latest applications into all curriculum areas.

Come Visit

The welcome mat is always out for visitors to our school. We are proud of our Lacamas students and their accomplishments. In the fall of 2003, the new Camas High School opened in close proximity to our school. This will allow for some unique partnerships and program opportunities for students at both sites.
