Citizens Advisory CommitteeFormed as an advisory group to the Camas School Board and Superintendent, the Citizens Advisory Committee provides an opportunity for patrons of the school district to have input into school programs, policies, and issues. The following questions and answers are designed to provide more information about CAC. What is the Citizens Advisory Committee?The CAC is a group of 15-25 parent and non-parent patrons of the Camas School District. Appointed by the Camas School Board, the group is advisory to the Board on school-related issues. What are some of the issues CAC deals with?Areas that have been covered in the past include school programs, school district policy, services to students, and school district communication. The meeting agendas vary each month based on issues brought to the committee from the Board and individual committee members. How often does CAC meet?Traditionally, CAC meets once a month during the school year. What are the qualifications for membership?Membership requires residency in the school district and a sincere interest in education. Nominated members receive formal appointment from the School Board and serve a three-year term. How does an interested patron become a member?CAC solicits new members for vacant positions in early fall.
