Community PartnershipsIt's no secret that behind so many of our successes are business leaders and community members who care about and contribute to our educational endeavors. Many large industries make their home in Camas, including the multi-million dollar WaferTech, and Georgia-Pacific Corporation. We value partnerships with our community and work side-by-side with those who share their expertise in the classroom and participate regularly in school/business linkages. Many Camas students have opportunties to "shadow" someone to learn more about a profession. Georgia Pacific offers financial contributions in the form of scholarships and work training. The local Chamber of Commerce helps students see the practical application of the learning process as it connects to real world situations. Volunteer tutors give many hours of their time helping students learn to read in the elementary schools' reading labs. Whether a child needs help reading, a friendly smile, or a listening ear, the people of Camas give of themselves to help children excel. |
