CHS offers five world languages - American Sign Language (ASL), French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Most
universities require two years of one foreign language study, while some require three or more years. By fulfilling
this requirement, the student demonstrates the academic discipline that is necessary for success at the college
level. Foreign language study requires consistent study habits, strong memorization skills, and the ability to
manipulate abstract concepts. Students must be prepared to spend at least 20 minutes daily for study and review of
class material.
